Thermally Bonded 100% PET Construction
Single Component Sound Absorbing Felt is manufactured from 100% polyester fiber. Standard PET fibers form the main structural network, while low-melting-point PET fibers provide thermal bonding.
The production process includes fiber opening, air-laid or carded web formation, hot pressing at 210–230°C, and cooling. No additional glue is required. During heating, the low-melting-point fibers bond at the fiber intersections while the three-dimensional porous structure remains open.
This construction allows the material to provide sound absorption, support, and forming performance. By changing the density and hot-pressing level, the same PET material system can be supplied as a soft roll for filling walls, ceilings, and equipment cavities or as a denser rigid board for decorative acoustic applications and structural forming.
Flexible Rolls and Rigid Acoustic Boards
The basis weight can be customized from 100 to 3,000 g/m². A common roll grade is about 500 g/m². Standard roll thicknesses include 25, 30, and 50 mm, while filling-material density ranges from 16 to 48 kg/m³.
For rigid board applications, available thicknesses include 9, 12, 15, and 25 mm. Board density ranges from 140 to 230 kg/m³, with about 190 kg/m³ being a common option. A typical board size is 1,220 × 2,420 mm.
A 12 mm rigid board with a density of 190 kg/m³ provides an NRC of about 0.45–0.65 when installed directly against a surface. It can be used as a decorative sound-absorbing panel on walls or ceilings.
Rigid products are available in 24 colors. Processing options include straight edges, beveled edges, custom shapes, screen printing, pattern processing, and logo engraving. These options allow the board to match interior design or equipment appearance requirements.
Fire, Environmental, and Maintenance Information
A GB 8624-2012 B1 flame-retardant grade is available. Its oxygen index is at least 32%, the carbonization rate is below 2 mm/s, and the smoke-toxicity rating reaches safety grade t1.
Formaldehyde emission is no more than 0.03 mg/m³, meeting E0/E1 environmental requirements. The product also complies with relevant RoHS and REACH requirements.
The PET material is recyclable, with a stated recyclability of 100%. It resists corrosion from common acids, alkalis, and salts and is not easy to support bacterial growth. Under dry conditions, its service life can exceed 15 years.
Single Component Sound Absorbing Felt is also easy to maintain. Surface dust can be removed with a vacuum cleaner or duster. Dirtier areas may be cleaned with a damp cloth and neutral detergent. The material can be washed and is not easy to become moth-eaten or powdery.
Drawing-Based Customization and Inspection
Jiangsu Haokai can adjust basis weight, density, thickness, color, and processing method according to installation dimensions, target acoustic values, and surface requirements.
The factory supports rolls, pre-cut sheets, and shaped rigid boards. Custom products can be developed from drawings or physical prototypes. Sample development normally takes 10–15 days.
The regular minimum order quantity is 1,000, and different colors or models may be mixed in one order. Samples can be confirmed before volume production.
All products receive 100% inspection before packing, and third-party inspection is accepted. Packaging can be adjusted to protect board edges, support roll transportation, and match the customer's warehouse conditions.
