Sound Absorption with Thermal Control
Bicomponent Thermal Acoustic Pad is a fiber composite designed to absorb sound and slow heat transfer in the same installation area.
The material contains many layers of still air between its fibers. These air pockets reduce the speed of heat movement through the pad. At the same time, the three-dimensional porous structure absorbs sound generated by engines, equipment, air ducts, and enclosed compartments.
Its thermal conductivity is about 0.035 W/(m·K). Its thermal insulation performance is about twice that of traditional felt.
Typical applications include automotive headliners, firewalls, areas near engine compartments, central air-conditioning ducts, equipment rooms, and other locations where both noise and temperature need to be controlled.

Surface Layers for Different Installations
The surface can be laminated with aluminum foil, nonwoven fabric, or film.
Aluminum foil is suitable for the engine side, the hot side of equipment, and industrial air ducts where heat reflection is required. Nonwoven fabric can improve surface protection and assembly conditions. Film can provide additional surface separation according to the component design.
An automotive headliner may use a 200 g/m², 10 mm product with a nonwoven layer. A firewall or engine-side component may use 400–600 g/m² at 15–20 mm with aluminum foil.
A home theater wall may use 400–500 g/m² at 30–50 mm with acoustically transparent fabric. Equipment rooms may use material above 500 g/m² at 50 mm, combined with aluminum foil and fire-resistant fabric.
These options allow the surface structure to be matched to the heat source, installation condition, and required acoustic performance.
Temperature, Moisture, and Flame-Retardant Options
The long-term service temperature is -40°C to +110°C. The material can remain at 120°C for 1,000 continuous hours without performance decline.
Water absorption is no more than 1%, and compression recovery is at least 70%. The material helps retain the internal air layer and recover most of its thickness after compression.
B1 flame-retardant or FMVSS 302 options are available. The burning rate is no more than 70 mm/min, and the product can meet the GB 8410 requirement for automotive interior flammability.
Its water-repellent and low-moisture-absorption characteristics also help reduce obvious mold or odor problems in humid environments.

Controlled Customization and Packing

Jiangsu Haokai can adjust basis weight, thickness, dimensions, and surface lamination according to the operating temperature, component shape, and installation space.
Bicomponent Thermal Acoustic Pad production is managed with process controls covering flame resistance, odor, VOCs, fogging, mold resistance, high- and low-temperature aging, and dimensional consistency.
The company manages relevant acoustic cotton and PU foam production processes under the IATF 16949:2016 automotive quality management system.
Custom components can be developed from technical drawings or prototypes. Sample development normally takes 10–15 days. Every item is inspected before packing, and third-party inspection is supported.
Packaging for export or long-distance transportation can be designed according to customer requirements to reduce damage during compression, handling, and storage.
