Single-Material PET Underbody Construction
PET Automotive Underbody Shield uses a continuous-fiber felt made entirely from a PET material system. It is designed for vehicle-underbody protection, road-noise control, and structural weight reduction.
A low-melting-point PET component provides thermal self-bonding, while high-strength continuous PET fibers form the reinforcing framework throughout the component.
The structure does not use urea-formaldehyde adhesive, latex, PP adhesive, or polyurethane adhesive.
Compared with a product description focused mainly on molding conditions and high-temperature structural performance, this underbody shield places greater emphasis on the full-PET material system, environmental resistance, acoustic performance, and recycling value.
The single-material construction can help buyers evaluate material-system simplification, component weight, and end-of-life recycling together.

Density, Weight Reduction, and Acoustic Performance
Finished density ranges from 0.30 to 1.0 g/cm³. Structural components normally use a density of 0.6–1.0 g/cm³.
This is lower than the stated density of about 1.1–1.2 g/cm³ for GMT-PP material. When the required component structure is maintained, the supplied data states that molded PET continuous-fiber parts can provide a structural weight reduction of about 20%–40%.
For front bulkheads, headliners, wheel housings, and related components, the referenced weight reduction is about 20%–30%.
Thermal conductivity ranges from 0.035 to 0.050 W/(m·K), allowing the material to slow part of the heat transfer around the vehicle underside.
The internal random porous structure can also absorb road noise generated while the vehicle is moving. The stated NRC range is 0.60–0.90.
Resistance to Moisture and Underbody Conditions
Vehicle underbody components are regularly exposed to water, mud, oil, and road splash. Water absorption of the product is below 1%.
Mechanical-property retention in wet conditions can exceed 90%. This helps reduce obvious softening, layer separation, or strength loss after moisture exposure.
The material resists weak acids and oil and is not easy to support mold or insect damage. Dimensional shrinkage is below 1% after one hour at 120°C, and the odor grade is no more than 3.0.
Basic PET material normally has an HB flame rating. By adding a phosphorus-based flame retardant, the material can reach GB 8410 Grade B, UL 94 V-0, or other stated automotive flame-retardant requirements.
The material can meet the supplied requirements related to GB/T 27630, VDA 270, and Volkswagen 50180 vehicle-interior air quality.

Recycling, Custom Development, and Packing

The full-PET structure supports the recovery of production offcuts and discarded components.
Scrap material can be crushed and used again for web laying and hot pressing. It may also be pelletized for later use in chemical fibers or engineering plastics.
Jiangsu Haokai has PET continuous-fiber raw-material production, molding, cutting, and inspection capabilities. PET Automotive Underbody Shield can be adjusted according to component dimensions, density, noise-reduction targets, and local load requirements.
Samples may be supplied before volume production, and buyers can arrange third-party inspection. Products receive 100% inspection before packing.
Custom sample development normally takes 10–15 days. Standard and custom products generally require 7–15 days for production, with photos or videos available during manufacturing.
Export packaging can be designed for the stacking, fixing, transportation, and storage of large underbody components.
