PET Front Dash Insulation Panel

A rigid insulation panel can use a basis weight of 1,200–2,000 g/m². Finished density is 0.6–1.0 g/cm³, and molded thickness is 2–8 mm.

The NRC of the rigid panel is about 0.40–0.60. It is suitable where stiffness, sound blocking, and installation positioning are the main priorities.

A composite panel can combine an 800–1,500 g/m² rigid structural layer with a 300–800 g/m² soft acoustic layer. The combined NRC can reach 0.60–0.90.

Buyers can select a single rigid board or a soft-and-rigid construction according to installation space and the type of noise.

A high-basis-weight rigid panel is suitable where the component must primarily block sound and maintain its shape. A soft layer can be added where medium- and high-frequency engine or motor noise also needs to be absorbed on the cabin side.

Tensile strength ranges from 15 to 60 MPa. Typical continuous-filament rigid felt provides 30–45 MPa.

Flexural strength is 30–90 MPa, and flexural modulus is 1.5–4.0 GPa.

Heat-deformation temperature ranges from 120 to 180°C. Thermal conductivity is 0.035–0.050 W/(m·K), and water absorption is below 1%.

The odor grade is no more than 3.0. The long-term service-temperature range is -40°C to +120°C, while a high-temperature grade can reach +150°C.

After one hour at 120°C, dimensional shrinkage is below 1%.

The material resists light exposure, aging, weak acids, and oil. It is also not easy to support mold or insect damage in humid conditions.

These properties allow PET Front Dash Insulation Panel to remain around areas exposed to changing temperature, humidity, and automotive liquids.

The PET structure uses low-melting-point PET for thermal self-bonding. It does not require urea-formaldehyde adhesive, phenolic adhesive, isocyanate adhesive, or solvent-based bonding.

PET knitted fabric or needle-punched fabric can be laminated to the surface. Local reinforcements, mounting areas, and unequal-thickness sections can also be formed according to the component design.

Packaging can be designed around panel flatness, corners, and laminated surfaces to reduce scratches, bending, and transportation deformation.
