Three-Dimensional Foam for Seat Comfort and Support
Polyurethane Seat Foam Pad is manufactured from soft, high-resilience PUR through cold molding. It is mainly used for automotive seat cushions, backrests, headrests, and local supporting areas.
The mold forms a three-dimensional structure that matches the seat frame, cover, and human-contact surface. Within the complete seat system, the foam provides cushioning and support.
PUR is produced through a reaction between isocyanate and polyol components with catalysts and blowing agents. It can form curves, edges, grooves, side bolsters, and frame-clearance zones directly inside the mold.
Compared with cutting and joining general-purpose foam blocks, molded production reduces seams and dimensional differences. It is better suited to seat components that need a complete contour and close coordination with the frame and upholstery.

Separate Designs for Cushions, Backrests, and Headrests
Cold molding can be used for several types of seat components.
A seat-cushion pad can include a central support surface, front transition area, and side support zones. A backrest pad can be shaped around the lumbar, shoulder, and side-bolster areas. A headrest pad can provide the required space around the headrest frame and cover.
Soft high-resilience PUR is suitable for interior components that remain in contact with the body for extended periods. It provides cushioning under pressure while maintaining the support required by the seat structure.
Different vehicle models have different frame layouts, seat dimensions, and upholstery shapes. The foam is therefore developed according to the specific component instead of using one universal form.
Vehicle Applications and Material-System Options
The product can be used in front- and rear-seat pads for passenger vehicles, seat backrests, headrests, side bolsters, and local support sections. It is also suitable for seats used in coaches and other transportation vehicles.
A newer-generation PUR system described in the supplied material may use CFC-free foaming technology. An MDI-based system has low-VOC characteristics, supporting vehicle-interior requirements related to odor and volatile substances.
During development, the seat frame, human-contact curve, upholstery tension, and assembly clearance should be reviewed together.
This helps the Polyurethane Seat Foam Pad maintain a stable installed contour and reduces the risk of local hollow areas or excessive compression beneath the cover.

Sample Validation and Volume Production

Jiangsu Haokai develops and produces automotive acoustic interior materials and PU foam components. Its production areas cover PU foam molding, mold processing, finished-product inspection, and warehouse management.
The company can support material planning, mold development, samples, small-batch trials, and volume-production preparation from customer drawings or physical prototypes.
Relevant PU foam production processes are managed under the IATF 16949:2016 automotive quality management system.
Samples can be supplied before volume production, and custom sample development normally takes 10–15 days. Photos or videos can be provided during production.
All products receive 100% inspection before packing, and third-party inspection is accepted. Packaging can be adjusted according to the foam contour and pressure-sensitive areas to reduce deformation during transportation.
