Molded Cushion for the Main Seating Area
Automotive Seat Foam Cushion is made from soft, high-resilience PUR and formed as one complete component through a cold-molding process. It is installed between the seat frame and upholstery and mainly serves the load-bearing area of an automotive seat.
During sitting, acceleration, braking, and road vibration, the cushion provides both comfort and support. Unlike structures made by cutting and joining several flat foam pieces, molded PUR can directly form the complete seat-cushion profile. This reduces joints, internal gaps, and uneven areas that may become visible after the seat cover is installed.
The molded structure can be developed for front seats, rear seats, coach seats, bus seats, local support pads, and complete molded cushion assemblies.

Integrated Support Zones and Frame Clearances
Cold molding allows several functional areas to be created in one foam part. These may include the central support surface, front transition area, left and right side bolsters, rounded edges, and clearance zones for the seat frame.
The main seating area distributes the occupant's load. The side sections help maintain a stable sitting position, while the front area can provide a smoother transition according to the seat design.
For different vehicle models, the foam contour can be adjusted according to frame dimensions, spring or support locations, upholstery tension, and available assembly space. Different local thicknesses can also be formed to meet the requirements of the center support area, side bolsters, and frame-transition zones.
This molded approach reduces later manual trimming and the need to bond multiple pieces together.
Sample Verification Before Volume Production
Customers can provide two-dimensional drawings, three-dimensional data, or a physical prototype for development.
Before volume production, samples and small-batch trials can be used to check the overall contour, assembly clearance, hole and frame clearances, and the final shape after upholstery is fitted.
Automotive Seat Foam Cushion development should consider the relationship between the foam, frame, and cover as one complete system. This helps avoid local hollow areas, excessive compression, or an unstable finished profile.
The soft high-resilience PUR material is intended for areas that remain under repeated pressure and must continue to provide cushioning and seat support.

Production and Packing for Shaped Foam Parts

Jiangsu Haokai has production areas for PU foam molding, mold processing, finished-product inspection, and warehouse management.
Its R&D, production, quality, and project-management teams can coordinate mold development, sample preparation, process adjustments, trial production, and volume-production preparation.
Relevant PU foam production processes are managed under the IATF 16949:2016 automotive quality management system. Custom sample development normally takes 10–15 days, while standard and custom products generally require 7–15 days for production.
Photos or videos can be supplied during manufacturing. Finished products receive 100% inspection before packing. Packaging can be adjusted according to the cushion profile and pressure-sensitive zones to reduce deformation during transportation.
