Closed-Cell PUR Structure
Polyurethane Thermal Insulation Foam is a rigid closed-cell PUR material produced by reacting isocyanate and polyether polyol with catalysts, blowing agents, and flame retardants.
Its internal structure contains many separate sealed cells. The closed-cell rate is 90%–95%, while higher-grade products can reach at least 95%. Cell diameter is about 100–300 μm.
This continuous closed-cell structure limits the movement of air and water vapor through the material. It can provide thermal insulation, moisture resistance, vapor control, sound reduction, structural filling, sealing, and corrosion protection.
Typical applications include new-energy vehicle battery packs, vehicle-body cavities, coaches, high-speed rail carriages, marine cabins, and other structures that need thermal filling.
Two-Component System and Forming Methods
The material normally consists of A and B components. Component A, also called the black component, mainly contains polymeric MDI or PAPI. Component B, also called the white component, mainly contains polyether polyol, catalysts, blowing agents, and flame retardants.
After the two components are mixed according to the required process, they react and expand to form closed-cell foam inside a controlled space.
Available processing methods include high-pressure spraying, casting and cavity filling, continuous panel foaming, mold forming, pipe-shell forming, and on-site foaming for irregular spaces.
Spraying is suitable for continuous surface coverage. Casting can fill enclosed cavities such as battery-pack spaces and vehicle-body structures. Molded processing is suitable for parts with defined dimensions, thicknesses, and installation positions.
Expansion and Cavity-Filling Planning
During on-site spraying, the material can expand to about 20–30 times its original volume. This allows it to reach curved surfaces, pipe surroundings, gaps, and irregular structures that are difficult to cover with flat sheets.
The required foam volume should be matched to the available cavity space. Insufficient expansion room or an incorrect filling amount may affect the external shape and later assembly.
For this reason, buyers should consider the cavity volume, filling position, component geometry, and forming method before production.

Custom Project and Inspection Support

The company can develop molds, filling structures, and samples from customer drawings or physical prototypes. Its total factory building area is about 30,000 m².
Dedicated personnel can follow material selection, mold development, sample validation, small-batch trials, and volume-production preparation. Custom samples normally require 10–15 days, and volume production generally requires 7–15 days.
Photos or videos can be provided during manufacturing. Products receive 100% inspection before packing, and third-party inspection is accepted.
If transportation damage occurs, the issue can be handled according to the actual condition, with dedicated personnel supporting later quality and after-sales communication.
