Designed for Medium- and Low-Frequency Noise
Bicomponent Fiber Insulation Pad is a flexible fiber material developed for medium- and low-frequency noise, cavity resonance, and sound energy inside enclosed structures.
It is suitable for installation under automotive floor carpets, in trunks, rear panels, wheel arches, equipment housings, and building cavities. By increasing the material weight, thickness, and installation cavity depth, the pad extends the path of sound waves inside its fiber structure.
This structure helps absorb tire noise, low-frequency road noise, equipment vibration sound, and resonance in enclosed spaces. Compared with thin acoustic materials mainly used for medium- and high-frequency sound, this pad is better suited to areas with concentrated low-frequency energy and sufficient installation space.

Weight, Thickness, and Air-Gap Selection
Reinforced grades normally start from 400 g/m². For low-frequency noise control in automotive trunks, a basis weight of 600–850 g/m² can be selected.
Common thickness ranges from 15 to 35 mm. Grades with a thickness of 30–35 mm are suitable for areas that require stronger low-frequency absorption. A 30 mm, 400 g/m² product provides an NRC of about 0.85–0.90.
The installation structure also affects acoustic performance. When the material is placed directly against a hard surface, sound absorption generally increases as the frequency rises.
A rear air gap of 3–6 mm can create a clearer absorption peak in the mid-frequency range. Increasing the gap to 9–13 mm can improve low-frequency absorption. A cavity depth above 20 mm has limited influence on high-frequency performance but provides more space for low-frequency sound energy to dissipate.
Compression Recovery and Environmental Stability
The material density is 0.01–0.06 g/cm³, and its compression recovery is at least 70%. It can fill irregular spaces inside sheet-metal structures, equipment housings, or building cavities.
After compression, the material recovers most of its original thickness. This helps reduce long-term acoustic performance loss caused by collapse or movement.
Water absorption is no more than 1%. No mold growth was found after a four-week mold test. The long-term service temperature is -40°C to +110°C. The material can also remain in continuous use at 120°C for 1,000 hours without performance decline.
These properties allow the pad to be used in automotive interiors, industrial equipment, and relatively humid operating environments.

Custom Parts and Order Support

Jiangsu Haokai can adjust basis weight, thickness, dimensions, and forming methods according to the installation position, target frequency range, and component structure.
Bicomponent Fiber Insulation Pad can be developed as an irregularly shaped part from technical drawings or physical prototypes. The factory can support sample preparation, small-batch trials, and volume production.
Custom sample development usually takes 10–15 days. The regular minimum order quantity is 1,000. Different colors or models may be discussed for the same order.
Products receive 100% inspection before packing, and third-party inspection is accepted. Photos or videos can be provided during production. Packaging can also be adapted to the customer's transportation and warehouse conditions.
