Bicomponent Polyester Acoustic Felt

Bicomponent Polyester Acoustic Felt

Bicomponent Polyester Acoustic Felt is made from hollow spiral PET fibers combined with melt-blown PP fibers. It is not a single-material PET felt.

PP and PET Combined in One Acoustic Structure

Bicomponent Polyester Acoustic Felt is made from hollow spiral PET fibers combined with melt-blown PP fibers. It is not a single-material PET felt.

PET represents about 35%–40% of the structure. It forms a supporting framework that helps maintain the material's loft, thickness stability, and compression recovery.

PP accounts for about 60%–65%. Its fine fibers and micro-pore structure perform most of the sound absorption. The different melting points and structural roles of PP and PET allow the material to combine acoustic efficiency, forming stability, and the ability to fill complex spaces.

Acoustic Grades for Walls, Ducts, and Equipment

A 10 mm, 300 g/m² grade offers an NRC of about 0.6–0.75. It is suitable for medium- to high-frequency noise in office partitions, appliance air ducts, and equipment linings.

An 18 mm, 300 g/m² grade reaches an NRC of about 0.75–0.85 and provides stronger mid-frequency absorption. A 30 mm, 400 g/m² grade reaches about 0.85–0.90 for wider frequency control in equipment cavities and transportation interiors.

Standard thickness ranges from 5 to 40 mm. The maximum width is 165 cm. The material can be cut according to component dimensions, helping reduce on-site joints and unnecessary material waste.

The appropriate grade should be selected according to the available space and target noise range rather than using the same thickness for every application.

Environmental and Long-Term Use Data

Formaldehyde content is no more than 10 μg/m³, and the environmental grade is E1. The fogging condensate value is no more than 2 mg.

The material complies with relevant RoHS and REACH requirements. It has no obvious odor or volatile gas, and both PP and PET fibers can be recycled.

The melting point of the PET fiber is at least 250°C. This helps the supporting structure remain stable when the surrounding temperature changes.

Long-term service temperature is -40°C to +110°C, and compression recovery is at least 70%. Bicomponent Polyester Acoustic Felt can therefore be used in columns, ceilings, HVAC ducts, servers, printers, cabins, and other irregular spaces that require stable, long-term filling.

Project Coordination from Sample to Production

product-2560-1696

Jiangsu Haokai supports material selection, basis-weight and thickness planning, dimensional design, die cutting, and component forming.

Its R&D, production, quality, and project management teams can coordinate material proposals, sample preparation, trial validation, small-batch production, and preparation for volume manufacturing.

The factory has dedicated areas for acoustic material production, precision die cutting, mold processing, and finished-product inspection. Custom components can be produced from customer drawings. Small sample quantities may be supplied before volume production.

Standard and custom products normally require 7–15 days. Repeat orders may have shorter lead times after the material and processing details have been confirmed. Photos or videos can be shared during production so purchasing teams can follow the project status.
