Material Structures Designed by Interior System
PET Formed Interior Felt is developed for automotive headliners, door panels, main carpets, trunks, and tailgate interior systems.
Rigid PET felt provides the supporting frame, formed shape, and installation stability. Soft PET felt supplies sound absorption, cushioning, and thermal insulation.
Nonwoven fabric, knitted material, needle-punched carpet, and other surface layers can be added during hot pressing. The product can therefore be designed as a rigid substrate, flexible acoustic liner, or soft-and-rigid molded assembly.
Instead of using one roll material for every vehicle area, the construction can be adjusted according to the stiffness, acoustic, surface, and assembly requirements of each interior system.

Door and Headliner Configurations
A door-panel frame can use 600–1,000 g/m² rigid PET felt. The acoustic liner can use 300–600 g/m² soft PET felt with an NRC of at least 0.65.
Where water protection or additional reinforcement is needed on the sheet-metal side, an 80–150 g/m² PET hot-rolled fabric combined with PE film can be used.
A headliner system can include a 600–1,000 g/m² rigid supporting layer and a 400–800 g/m² soft acoustic layer. Nonwoven or knitted fabric can be laminated to the visible surface during molding.
A sunroof reinforcement frame may also be integrated during forming. Completing several layers in one mold can reduce later spray-adhesive application, positioning, and secondary lamination.
Carpet, Trunk, and Tailgate Structures
A main-carpet system can use 300–600 g/m² PET needle-punched carpet or PA tufted material as the surface layer.
A 600–1,200 g/m² rigid PET felt with a thickness of 2–3 mm can provide the formed supporting structure. A 400–800 g/m² soft PET felt with a thickness of 10–20 mm can be used as the acoustic layer.
Trunk side panels may use 800–1,200 g/m² rigid felt laminated with fabric. Spare-wheel covers can use a multilayer rigid-felt structure of 1,000–1,800 g/m².
Parcel shelves may use 1,000–1,500 g/m² rigid felt. Tailgate interior panels can use 600–1,000 g/m² rigid felt together with an acoustic soft layer of about 300 g/m².
These system-specific combinations help control component weight, stiffness, and sound absorption without applying the same density to every interior part.

Environmental Data and Quality Control

PET Formed Interior Felt does not contain glass fiber, reducing glass-fiber dust and skin irritation during handling and assembly.
Formaldehyde emission is no more than 15 μg/(m²·h). Total TVOC carbon is no more than 50 μgC/g, odor grade is no more than 3.5, fogging condensate is no more than 2 mg, and mold resistance is Grade 0.
The material complies with RoHS, REACH, ELV, and GB 30512 requirements. After 50 high- and low-temperature cycles between -40°C and +120°C, the product does not crack or separate.
After 1,000 hours at 50°C and 95% RH, strength retention can reach more than 85%.
Jiangsu Haokai can support material selection, mold development, sample validation, and volume production according to the vehicle interior system. Products receive 100% inspection before packing, and third-party inspection is accepted.
